Who is Nikah Khawan (Qazi)?

A Nikah Khawan (Qazi) is an individual who performs  Nikah services according to Islamic Sharia. Pakistan has many Nikah Khawans (Qazis) who are amateurs, who have not studied at any Madressa, and who have not been registered, however; we have a panel of Nikah Khawans (Qazis) who are all certified and qualified from well known Islami Madrassas. Their religious function has been performed in Pakistan since several years ago in Karachi, Islamabad,Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan & Faisalabad. The Nikah khawans (Qazis) of our firm are normally imams. Furthermore, Nikah Khawans, belonging to different religious sects, Fiqhas/ school of thoughts are available , depending upon the demand of our clients.

Muslim men can marry not only Muslim women but also Ahle-Kitab (Christian or Jewish) women. Muslim Nikah Khawans (Qazis) who have graduated from Madrassas solemnize the Muslim Nikah in Pakistan. A religious authority can recognize Nikah Khawans (Qazi) as authentic Nikah Khawans (Qazi) and formalize their obligations. The registration must also include a copy of Nikah Khawan’s (Qazi’s) license. An unapproved Nikah Khawan (Qazi) cannot perform the Nikah function.

How Do You Define Nikah/Nikkah?

Islam refers exclusively to marriage contracts as nikahs or nikkahs, which occur in the Holy Quran. “The word ”Nikah” means marriage, marriage contract, matrimonial union, wedlock” according to The Wehr-Cowan Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic. Nikah/marriage between a Muslim couple or a Muslim man and Ahl e Kitab (Christian or Jew) women are exchanges of vows between them, and  to integrate their lives.

Muslim men may marry Christians or Jews women

Muslim men may marry Christians or Jews women, without requiring them to convert to Islam at any point in time according to Islamic Shari’a. The Nikah (Nikkah) of a Muslim girl/woman, however, cannot take place with a non-Muslim man. Male and female partners exchange sacred contracts and social announcements through the Nikah (Nikkah).

Marriage completes half of a person’s way of life

It is said that marriage completes half of a person’s deen (way of life) in the Qur’an and Sunnah. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “As well as putting between you love and mercy, He (Allah) has made your spouses from among yourselves so that you may benefit from them. [Al-Qur’an: Surah 30, Verse 21] “Marriage/Nikah is my way (Sunnah).” “Whoever does not follow it is not one of us.” – [Sahih-Al-Bukhari].
